CBD: Fad or for Real?

CBD: Fad or for Real? 1024 683 kupplinadmin

Cannabidiol, more commonly known as CBD is derived from the marijuana plant, Cannabis sativa. This extract has been growing in popularity as it has been scientifically known to help relieve pain as well as other medical problems. This is not to be confused with Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, the psychoactive element of marijuana. CBD by itself will not get you high.

Here are some ways to incorporate CBD’s benefits into your life:

1. CBD can relieve pain. As mentioned above, CBD is a pain reliever as well as an anti-inflammatory. A study at the University of Kentucky showed that when CBD was administered to a rat with knee joint arthritis for four consecutive days, the inflammation was significantly reduced as well as the rat’s pain signals. How’s that for scientific proof?

2. CBD can help manage stress and anxiety. With the use of CBD daily, the body is better able to access hormones like serotonin and anandamide meaning that the user will experience happier and more stress-free days. Who doesn’t want that?

3. CBD can improve sleep habits. The combination of pain and stress relief, two major sleep inhibitors of sleep, clearly benefits your sleeping arrangement. Not to mention, it improves your REM sleep cycle – leaving you feeling more refreshed when you wake up. Everyone loves a good night’s sleep.

As with any medical aid, talk to your doctor about how to best integrate CBD into your lifestyle if it is legal in your state.
