How COVID Has Affected The Medical World

The topic of COVID-19 is not new to anyone. We have all been affected by it in some way or another. Mostly everyone can say they got or know some that got COVID. And in extreme cases people may be able to say they have lost a loved one due to the disease. In the beginning of the surge, we were at home monitoring how many people were dying and being affected by it. And we got to witness the catastrophe that went on in hospitals. People were advised NOT to go into hospitals because the conditions were atrocious.

​COVID-19 has affected the medical world internationally. Lockdowns have forced billions of people to stay at home throughout the world, with over three million people dying as a result. The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll on healthcare systems around the globe, causing delays in illness treatment and prevention. Earlier to the pandemic, almost half of the world’s population lacked access to decent healthcare, and the pandemic has increased this statistic. The overwhelmed healthcare system has also affected healthcare works directly. The pandemic has had a significant effect on the mental health of healthcare professionals. Medical professionals had to put their live at risk every day to support the average citizens.

​A year and some months later we are finally going back to life like we knew it. People can travel, see their loved ones, and live without fear. Thank you to our healthcare workers that worked through the chaos.
